✦ Everything must be from an IC in-world perspective. The meme is specifically a Legion fandom meme. UP citizens, Legion World Staff, and Legionnaires all have access to the meme. While this meme is in the meme comm, it is real in the game universe and all the Legionnaires and the public can see it ICly. Rather than other ic anon memes where characters post starters to the meme, this meme operates like real world memes like rpanons.

✦ There are 3 ways to post. When posting as non-Legionnaires, do it anon. When posting as Legionnaires that ~~unwisely~~ comment unanon, just do it logged in. If posting as Legionnaires going anon, do it logged in, but mark "anon" in the subject, so we know it's anon, but can have a laugh over which Legionnaires are secretly stanning or shitposting.

✦ Not necessarily a rule, but keep in mind that attitudes in the UP are different than our world. Most people are referred to generally as "people" or "sentients" instead of species-specific terms like "humans." Most racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, and other "ist" attitudes are now uncommon among most species in the UP. Many sexual orientations exist, polyamory and polygamy are considered acceptable, and gender identity is very flexible. Species-based xenophobia tends to be the bigger social ill and even with that, many are against it. The species that are most disliked and distrusted are Durlans, Daxamites, and Roboticans. If you want to use them for fun, common UP cursewords are on the Legion Basics page.

✦ Beyond sticking to those basics, don't worry about getting anything "wrong." It's a meme and people tend to say stupid things on memes. You can even make up fake species and planets and details about them. The UP is huge and has lots of planets and species not mentioned in the game info.

✦ You can pretend to write things from the POV of Legion staff sharing the deets on the Legionnaires. However, they wouldn't share tactical info on the Legionnaires that could get them hurt in battle, only juicy gossip. Also, if someone is writing from the POV of Legion staff and writes something about your character that your character doesn't actually do, keep in mind that half the time people make shit up. It'll just be false gossip.

✦ Try to keep anything that can't be put behind a link sfw. While you can write someone sharing the start of their steamy slash fanfic, try to keep it limited to just part of it. Linking to fanart as if it was made in universe is a-okay, but just make sure to put it under a link and warn if it it's nsfw. Please check character ages before posting any nsfw stuff to make sure they're over 18.

✦ Feel free to get really crazy. Fandom gets crazy and fandom is no different in the glorious robot future. There are normal posters, shitposters, trolls, rpf ficcers, stans, slashers, all the same things our time has. There are macros and gifs and ongoing fake memes you can make up. There will be a few preposted topics but you can make up new ones or just have anons create new topics or troll.

✦ The meme is generally modless and has no thread-freezing. Fandom plays it dangerous in the future and the ic mod rarely intervenes, though anons sometimes try to get them to. Anon comments can be deleted by the real mods at the request of players (like say if they made a formatting mistake and want to repost) but there should be no need to delete anything beyond that since it's all IC.

✦ This anon meme is set shortly after: the events of "Resistance is Futile" and "An Eye For An Eye," and right after the recent Legion Watch.

well, speaking of cortana, she and the other soldiers just instantly snapped into war mode when the alert hit. it probably saved us all, but it was pretty unsettling to watch how easily they switched over to killing.

Not all of them. I heard Freelancer and Legal Eagle really went at it.

Something is wrong with Freelancer. I don't know what specifically about this sprocked him up all this, but he is not doing okay.

I heard rumors that some of the Legions members got turned while they were trying to help out. Can anyone confirm? Maybe that has something to do with what happened?

I would be pretty sprocked up if I had to see my friends/family turned.

Legion staffer here. I can't say whether Legionnaires got infected (not because it's classified or anything, I was just too busy not dying myself to notice one way or another) but without TK or force fields or something, the only way to stop them was headshots. So yeah, there's a decent chance any given Legionnaire had to kill a friend, and we didn't know at the time that we'd be able to bring anyone back afterwards.

I haven't slept without tranquilizers since, and I didn't even see any fighting.

None, but I bet it has something to do with why Freelancer is so sprocked up.

I'm Legion staff and I probably shouldn't be saying this but Captain Mystery was originally deployed with Paladin on what should've been a fluff mission. Mission went shiznar, only he got out. He brought in Freelancer for back up.

And then only the two of them walked out.

I don't know anything more than that, though.

even without the audio that's hard to watch, especially with that context. i bet it was some break down after something happened to paladin.

Oh yeah, especially considering what happened after the mission.

Someone started a food fight in the Mess Hall post-mission. (It was great. Nice way to relieve tension, everyone had a laugh, and some of the Legionnaires helped clean up).

I'm not entirely sure what they're doing because I'm not human and I don't have lips but it's clearly some form of affection and I think it's adorable. No wonder he was freaking out so much, apparently he's her zizmar. (Humans have those, right?)

What Arbitrator did had witnesses, what happened with Freelancer is still just speculation and people trying to connect the dots.

Not really. From the context, it sounds like Paladin could have been fully converted and possibly a direct threat to the pair of them. The woman Arbitrator shot was not, and Ghostbuster specifically took measures to prevent her from becoming one without harming her. And Arbitrator still went out of his way to shoot her after Ghostbuster sent her outside.

She would've been a direct threat to everybody in that room in less than a minute. Have you seen what one of those things can do in an enclosed space?

All Ghostbuster did was make her somebody else's problem. Left her outside to attack other people in their homes or another shelter, and maybe that would've been the tipping point for converting another two thousand Coluans.

And? The people who were converted still survived to be cured. Dead is dead.

At that time, nobody knew if a cure was even possible or not. Conversion was dead. As far as he knew and everybody knew, she was already a lost cause.

He was being practical. Arbitrator made a good judgement call based on the knowledge that they had at the time. Thinking of the other people who weren't converted yet. Isn't that considerate?
