RULES AND INFO

✦ Everything must be from an IC in-world perspective. The meme is specifically a Legion fandom meme. UP citizens, Legion World Staff, and Legionnaires all have access to the meme. While this meme is in the meme comm, it is real in the game universe and all the Legionnaires and the public can see it ICly. Rather than other ic anon memes where characters post starters to the meme, this meme operates like real world memes like rpanons.

✦ There are 3 ways to post. When posting as non-Legionnaires, do it anon. When posting as Legionnaires that ~~unwisely~~ comment unanon, just do it logged in. If posting as Legionnaires going anon, do it logged in, but mark "anon" in the subject, so we know it's anon, but can have a laugh over which Legionnaires are secretly stanning or shitposting.

✦ Not necessarily a rule, but keep in mind that attitudes in the UP are different than our world. Most people are referred to generally as "people" or "sentients" instead of species-specific terms like "humans." Most racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, and other "ist" attitudes are now uncommon among most species in the UP. Many sexual orientations exist, polyamory and polygamy are considered acceptable, and gender identity is very flexible. Species-based xenophobia tends to be the bigger social ill and even with that, many are against it. The species that are most disliked and distrusted are Durlans, Daxamites, and Roboticans. ✦ Beyond sticking to those basics, don't worry about getting anything "wrong." It's a meme and people tend to say stupid things on memes. You can even make up fake species and planets and details about them. The UP is huge and has lots of planets and species not mentioned in the game info.

✦ You can pretend to write things from the POV of Legion staff sharing the deets on the Legionnaires. However, they wouldn't share tactical info on the Legionnaires that could get them hurt in battle, only juicy gossip. Also, if someone is writing from the POV of Legion staff and writes something about your character that your character doesn't actually do, keep in mind that half the time people make shit up. It'll just be false gossip.

✦ Try to keep anything that can't be put behind a link sfw. While you can write someone sharing the start of their steamy slash fanfic, try to keep it limited to just part of it. Linking to fanart as if it was made in universe is a-okay, but just make sure to put it under a link and warn if it it's nsfw. Please check character ages before posting any nsfw stuff to make sure they're over 18.

✦ Feel free to get really crazy. Fandom gets crazy and fandom is no different in the glorious robot future. There are normal posters, shitposters, trolls, rpf ficcers, stans, slashers, all the same things our time has. There are macros and gifs and ongoing fake memes you can make up. There will be a few preposted topics but you can make up new ones or just have anons create new topics or troll.

✦ The meme is generally modless and has no thread-freezing. Fandom plays it dangerous in the future and the ic mod rarely intervenes, though anons sometimes try to get them to. Anon comments can be deleted by the real mods at the request of players (like say if they made a formatting mistake and want to repost) but there should be no need to delete anything beyond that since it's all IC.

✦ This anon meme is set shortly after the events of "Out With the Old" and "Books of Magic." For "Out With the Old," some of the early events were caught on camera, but a few minutes after the teams broke in, video footage got cut, which means the full events weren't visible to the public. You can treat it as the first half of most of the fights were broadcast. For "Books of Magic" none of the magical missions were in public places, but the Legion did release a press release about getting something that could re-capture the Spectre. The discussion of overthrowing the corrupt UP Councilmembers is completely secret, was encrypted to just to active Legionnaires, and even staff doesn't know about it. Said information cannot be leaked or else your character's post will be traced and they'll be booted from the team.

Sometimes it feels like those of us on medical staff need combat pay. You'd think that most of these guys would be too weak to move after the ordeal they go through to show up. Poison gas, radiation, freezing temperatures, sudden shift in gravity and air pressure...

...And then someone wakes up and takes a swing at you. Or breaks your arm and tries to twist your boss's head off until three or four guys tackle them. Not naming any names, but if that's your response to waking up in a strange place, I'd hate to see you after a hard night's drink.

I'm definitely a fan of strapping them down from now on. But if they wake up with super strength, that'll be an issue.

Payback and Firelord -- you remember him from the early days? -- both escaped into the ventilation system the first moment they got. And then somehow found each other.

We've been a lot more careful about keeping those access panels bolted since.

We need more Tales from the Medbay. You sentients have to have the best gossip.

Really hope you guys wear some kind of cup or protection. Last thing I'd want is to take a hit down south from someone with super strength.
