RULES AND INFO

✦ Everything must be from an IC in-world perspective. The meme is specifically a Legion fandom meme. UP citizens, Legion World Staff, and Legionnaires all have access to the meme. While this meme is in the meme comm, it is real in the game universe and all the Legionnaires and the public can see it ICly. Rather than other ic anon memes where characters post starters to the meme, this meme operates like real world memes like rpanons.

✦ There are 3 ways to post. When posting as non-Legionnaires, do it anon. When posting as Legionnaires that ~~unwisely~~ comment unanon, just do it logged in. If posting as Legionnaires going anon, do it logged in, but mark "anon" in the subject, so we know it's anon, but can have a laugh over which Legionnaires are secretly stanning or shitposting.

✦ Not necessarily a rule, but keep in mind that attitudes in the UP are different than our world. Most people are referred to generally as "people" or "sentients" instead of species-specific terms like "humans." Most racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, and other "ist" attitudes are now uncommon among most species in the UP. Many sexual orientations exist, polyamory and polygamy are considered acceptable, and gender identity is very flexible. Species-based xenophobia tends to be the bigger social ill and even with that, many are against it. The species that are most disliked and distrusted are Durlans, Daxamites, and Roboticans. ✦ Beyond sticking to those basics, don't worry about getting anything "wrong." It's a meme and people tend to say stupid things on memes. You can even make up fake species and planets and details about them. The UP is huge and has lots of planets and species not mentioned in the game info.

✦ You can pretend to write things from the POV of Legion staff sharing the deets on the Legionnaires. However, they wouldn't share tactical info on the Legionnaires that could get them hurt in battle, only juicy gossip. Also, if someone is writing from the POV of Legion staff and writes something about your character that your character doesn't actually do, keep in mind that half the time people make shit up. It'll just be false gossip.

✦ Try to keep anything that can't be put behind a link sfw. While you can write someone sharing the start of their steamy slash fanfic, try to keep it limited to just part of it. Linking to fanart as if it was made in universe is a-okay, but just make sure to put it under a link and warn if it it's nsfw. Please check character ages before posting any nsfw stuff to make sure they're over 18.

✦ Feel free to get really crazy. Fandom gets crazy and fandom is no different in the glorious robot future. There are normal posters, shitposters, trolls, rpf ficcers, stans, slashers, all the same things our time has. There are macros and gifs and ongoing fake memes you can make up. There will be a few preposted topics but you can make up new ones or just have anons create new topics or troll.

✦ The meme is generally modless and has no thread-freezing. Fandom plays it dangerous in the future and the ic mod rarely intervenes, though anons sometimes try to get them to. Anon comments can be deleted by the real mods at the request of players (like say if they made a formatting mistake and want to repost) but there should be no need to delete anything beyond that since it's all IC.

✦ This anon meme is set shortly after the events of "No Sanity Clause" and "Silent Horizon." Thanks to news drones catching part of the Joker's declaration, and thanks to press conferences by the UP government, several things that happened during "No Sanity Clause" are now public knowledge: the threat of Chronoblivion and that the Legion and UP government kept it secret, that the Joker is in Legion custody and will not be released to Takron Galtos (the prison planet), and that Blue Rose is dead and will be having a funeral soon on Shanghalla. What isn't publicly known: that the Joker said Brainic 5 wasn't guilty of the original Legion disappearing and that Chronoblivion's forces were, and that the Spectre appeared as Blue Rose died and gruesomely killed her murderer, Firefly (though the Carggites that saw him may reveal this anon). As for Silent Horizon, it's publicly known: that the star drive test was a dismal failure and that much of the Silent Horizon crew died, and that the Legion saved the Robotican crew members. However, the full extent of what happened is not publicly known. (That said, people may post as anon Legion World staff spilling the beans on what happened during the mission.)

I'm not a fan of the Flash's costume. Too many extra lines and bits. I'm this close to starting a petition to get him into the classic Flash suit.

does monkey mom even HAVE a costume? i've only ever seen her wearing... whatever old fashioned clothes she likes to wear.

He's an albino. Taking his shades off probably hurts his eyes.

So, I did up Monkey Mom on my computer. I looked up a lot of old timey Japanese stuff to come up with some authentic warrior gear. I wouldn't have guessed that Cure Blossom was so close to the traditional female warrior garb!

Anyway, so. She likes red and gold and yellow, so I put that as her colors. No sleeves on her arms and legs to free up motion (especially if she goes all monkey mode). Samurai mask to protect her face. Traditional armoring. And went for sandals so they could be kicked off easy if she needed to turn into a monkey.

What do you think? I think it works a lot better for Legion missions.

Some anon complained about the Flash's costume looking too layered and not streamlined enough. I agree. That said, I also don't want him to wear our Flash's costume. No offense meant to him, it'd just cause confusion. So I worked on this, though I might have let a little too much Livewire and Sparks in during the designing phase. I think it still hits the classical Speedster beats, and the helmet not only offers superior protection, but more aerodynamics. And a shield to keep bugs out of his eyes. I don't know how XS managed.

It's probably the Speed Force. No, really, if something about a speedster doesn't make sense, 99% of the time that's the explanation.

I like the suit, but that helmet looks like it would be really awkward to wear. Round it off at the back like a regular helmet, ditch the crest, and put the Flash logo on the chest and it'd definitely work.

I'm sorry, but why are you bringing up the Speed Force? I never said anything didn't make sense, I said that giving him our Flash's old costume would cause confusion.

The helmet looks awkward now, but imagine him in a running pose. Body leaning forward, head straight, etc.

imo, Mr. Ice Guy needs a total image reworking. The name's a little too whimsical, either Mr. Ice or Ice Guy would work better. Also, his costume. While pretty, it doesn't really give any hints as to what he can do. There's nothing that makes you look at it and go "That's Mr. Ice Guy."

So a quick, if a bit plain, reworking. Add a sash for his flowiness. A tiara for some style points. Retractable skates. And a scarf because the idea of his boyfriend giving him one is cute.

If I'm getting him neckwear, it's going to be a replacement for that hideous powder blue tie he keeps wearing back home.

I am going to find it and I am going to burn it and I am going to bury the ashes in unhallowed ground.

After seeing the absolute garbage pile that is The Reaper's costume (Note: The Reaper. Not Reaper.) I decided to keep the overly edgy aesthetic he was going for while also giving him more protection. Because it sounds like he could've used some in that last mission.

...Unfortunately, my friends said it sucks. Well, I liked it, but in deference to them, I made up an alt outfit.

Much more toned down and streamlined. More tactical. Kept the hocky mask, lost the edgy skull paint. It only occurred to me after I worked on this that The Reaper doesn't have that much red, if any, in his outfit. Oh well. It still works with what he was going for, I think.
