IC ANON MEME
![]() RULES AND INFO ✦ Everything must be from an IC in-world perspective. The meme is specifically a Legion fandom meme. UP citizens, Legion World Staff, and Legionnaires all have access to the meme. While this meme is in the meme comm, it is real in the game universe and all the Legionnaires and the public can see it ICly. Rather than other ic anon memes where characters post starters to the meme, this meme operates like real world memes like rpanons. ✦ There are 3 ways to post. When posting as non-Legionnaires, do it anon. When posting as Legionnaires that ✦ Not necessarily a rule, but keep in mind that attitudes in the UP are different than our world. Most people are referred to generally as "people" or "sentients" instead of species-specific terms like "humans." Most racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, and other "ist" attitudes are now uncommon among most species in the UP. Many sexual orientations exist, polyamory and polygamy are considered acceptable, and gender identity is very flexible. Species-based xenophobia tends to be the bigger social ill and even with that, many are against it. The species that are most disliked and distrusted are Durlans, Daxamites, and Roboticans. If you want to use them for fun, common UP cursewords are on the Legion Basics page. ✦ Beyond sticking to those basics, don't worry about getting anything "wrong." It's a meme and people tend to say stupid things on memes. You can even make up fake species and planets and details about them. The UP is huge and has lots of planets and species not mentioned in the game info. ✦ You can pretend to write things from the POV of Legion staff sharing the deets on the Legionnaires. However, they wouldn't share tactical info on the Legionnaires that could get them hurt in battle, only juicy gossip. Also, if someone is writing from the POV of Legion staff and writes something about your character that your character doesn't actually do, keep in mind that half the time people make shit up. It'll just be false gossip. ✦ Try to keep anything that can't be put behind a link sfw. While you can write someone sharing the start of their steamy slash fanfic, try to keep it limited to just part of it. Linking to fanart as if it was made in universe is a-okay, but just make sure to put it under a link and warn if it it's nsfw. Please check character ages before posting any nsfw stuff to make sure they're over 18. ✦ Feel free to get really crazy. Fandom gets crazy and fandom is no different in the glorious robot future. There are normal posters, shitposters, trolls, rpf ficcers, stans, slashers, all the same things our time has. There are macros and gifs and ongoing fake memes you can make up. There will be a few preposted topics but you can make up new ones or just have anons create new topics or troll. ✦ The meme is generally modless and has no thread-freezing. Fandom plays it dangerous in the future and the ic mod rarely intervenes, though anons sometimes try to get them to. Anon comments can be deleted by the real mods at the request of players (like say if they made a formatting mistake and want to repost) but there should be no need to delete anything beyond that since it's all IC. ✦ This anon meme is set shortly after the events of "No Sanity Clause" and "Silent Horizon." Thanks to news drones catching part of the Joker's declaration, and thanks to press conferences by the UP government, several things that happened during "No Sanity Clause" are now public knowledge: the threat of Chronoblivion and that the Legion and UP government kept it secret, that the Joker is in Legion custody and will not be released to Takron Galtos (the prison planet), and that Blue Rose is dead and will be having a funeral soon on Shanghalla. What isn't publicly known: that the Joker said Brainic 5 wasn't guilty of the original Legion disappearing and that Chronoblivion's forces were, and that the Spectre appeared as Blue Rose died and gruesomely killed her murderer, Firefly (though the Carggites that saw him may reveal this anon). As for Silent Horizon, it's publicly known: that the star drive test was a dismal failure and that much of the Silent Horizon crew died, and that the Legion saved the Robotican crew members. However, the full extent of what happened is not publicly known. (That said, people may post as anon Legion World staff spilling the beans on what happened during the mission.) |
Re: I'm Paperboy! Ask Me Any Story.
(Anonymous) 2017-01-23 04:28 am (UTC)(link)You're really this much of a mama's boy?
Like, it's not an act to make her more sympathetic or anything? Because ngl she kind of scares the shit out of me, and not in the sexy way a lot of anons seem to feel. The only thing that really makes her seem not like a terrifying murder machine is you and how much you love her and she loves you, but that also seems kind of over-the-top?
Like. Bro, your mom is fucked up. She threatened to remove someone's LIMBS. On the MEME.

I told you so!
Re: I'm Paperboy! Ask Me Any Story.
You're asking this in seriousness, so I'm going to answer this in seriousness.
[He plays a song in accompaniment, and his paper illustrates his words, but it's not a traditional story he tells. His feelings are a little intense, just yet. But he will be filing this away for future stories.]
When you grow up with something, you believe it's normal. It doesn't seem strange.
I grew up in a cave, with nothing. I had to prepare every meal, guide Mother through every action when the sun was up, since I was about 6 years old. She kept getting worse every day - drifting farther from me -
And when I try to tell people about it, they get very upset. They ask how I did it.
I don't know how I did it, except that it needed to be done, so I did.
Mother grew up in a place where emotions were . . . impolite, at best. Love and caring and kindness were indecorous. Embarrassing. She lived in that for so, so much longer than you and I have been alive. And when you insulted someone - you died. Or you killed them. There was no in between.
When my father had the chance to present her with a different way - a kinder way of living - she took that chance faster than I believe any of you would take any good thing offered to you.
That took courage. She had to know how my Grandfather would react -
And she did it anyway, and dealt with the consequences. My grandfather hurt her. He injured her beyond healing. He took my father from her, and mutilated him, and that was the family she came from -
And she raised me with love and kindness, taught me to act with compassion and to tell my father's stories with pride.
It took so much courage for her to leave that life, and if she is still more harsh than you want anyone to be . . . then I'm glad. I'm glad your world is so gentle. I'm glad your world isn't the burning heat of a star, or the destructive cold of empty space, with nothing in between.
But you'll never understand my mother, and maybe you'll never understand why I love her so much. But I do love her. She suffered and struggled. She had a seat in the heavens where she was powerful, respected, and she gave it up for love. And the price she paid for giving it up was so high . . .
So high that I . . .
[His fingers falter on the strings.]
I would understand if she . . . if given the chance, she wouldn't pay it again.
[Oh, he has to pause his playing to think about that. But he resumes, summoning his resolve.]
So yes, I love my mother, I love her for all that she sacrificed, all the wonders of the cosmos she could have had, but chose me and my father instead. It's not her fault she had a life that was mostly hard, and cold, and full of violent perfection. My grandfather wanted perfection, like you, and perfection always comes with a price.
The price you're asking her to pay is to have lived an entirely different life from what she lived, on the moon.
Maybe you should ask her if she ever wanted to live that life at all.
I'm not living the life she wanted for me. If that's "fucked up" like you say, then . . . I'm just glad fate has let you live a not-fucked-up life. My mother wanted the same for me. But she didn't get it. That's our difference. That's why I love her - one of the reasons I love her so much. Because she gave me as kind and gentle a life as she could, when she had almost no experience of kindness or gentleness herself.
Maybe she doesn't respond to you when you're rude and inappropriate the way you'd like her to, but . . . maybe you should also watch your language when speaking to my mother.
[He cuts his song, and the feed, short. Kubo out yo.]

I would make that choice a hundred thousand times for you, little one.
Thank you.

Well, it's my turn to ask questions, and the question is - why?
I could get the stories for you.
Re: DA
(Anonymous) 2017-01-23 05:49 am (UTC)(link)and also because sometimes we like to imagine things that i am 99.9% sure your mama's never going to tell you.
like how you were conceivedRe: DA
Okay
Well, you're right
I don't know, and I don't want to know
So good luck asking Mother.
