RULES AND INFO

✦ Everything must be from an IC in-world perspective. The meme is specifically a Legion fandom meme. UP citizens, Legion World Staff, and Legionnaires all have access to the meme. While this meme is in the meme comm, it is real in the game universe and all the Legionnaires and the public can see it ICly. Rather than other ic anon memes where characters post starters to the meme, this meme operates like real world memes like rpanons.

✦ There are 3 ways to post. When posting as non-Legionnaires, do it anon. When posting as Legionnaires that ~~unwisely~~ comment unanon, just do it logged in. If posting as Legionnaires going anon, do it logged in, but mark "anon" in the subject, so we know it's anon, but can have a laugh over which Legionnaires are secretly stanning or shitposting.

✦ Not necessarily a rule, but keep in mind that attitudes in the UP are different than our world. Most people are referred to generally as "people" or "sentients" instead of species-specific terms like "humans." Most racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, and other "ist" attitudes are now uncommon among most species in the UP. Many sexual orientations exist, polyamory and polygamy are considered acceptable, and gender identity is very flexible. Species-based xenophobia tends to be the bigger social ill and even with that, many are against it. The species that are most disliked and distrusted are Durlans, Daxamites, and Roboticans. ✦ Beyond sticking to those basics, don't worry about getting anything "wrong." It's a meme and people tend to say stupid things on memes. You can even make up fake species and planets and details about them. The UP is huge and has lots of planets and species not mentioned in the game info.

✦ You can pretend to write things from the POV of Legion staff sharing the deets on the Legionnaires. However, they wouldn't share tactical info on the Legionnaires that could get them hurt in battle, only juicy gossip. Also, if someone is writing from the POV of Legion staff and writes something about your character that your character doesn't actually do, keep in mind that half the time people make shit up. It'll just be false gossip.

✦ Try to keep anything that can't be put behind a link sfw. While you can write someone sharing the start of their steamy slash fanfic, try to keep it limited to just part of it. Linking to fanart as if it was made in universe is a-okay, but just make sure to put it under a link and warn if it it's nsfw. Please check character ages before posting any nsfw stuff to make sure they're over 18.

✦ Feel free to get really crazy. Fandom gets crazy and fandom is no different in the glorious robot future. There are normal posters, shitposters, trolls, rpf ficcers, stans, slashers, all the same things our time has. There are macros and gifs and ongoing fake memes you can make up. There will be a few preposted topics but you can make up new ones or just have anons create new topics or troll.

✦ The meme is generally modless and has no thread-freezing. Fandom plays it dangerous in the future and the ic mod rarely intervenes, though anons sometimes try to get them to. Anon comments can be deleted by the real mods at the request of players (like say if they made a formatting mistake and want to repost) but there should be no need to delete anything beyond that since it's all IC.

✦ This anon meme is set shortly after the events of "No Sanity Clause" and "Silent Horizon." Thanks to news drones catching part of the Joker's declaration, and thanks to press conferences by the UP government, several things that happened during "No Sanity Clause" are now public knowledge: the threat of Chronoblivion and that the Legion and UP government kept it secret, that the Joker is in Legion custody and will not be released to Takron Galtos (the prison planet), and that Blue Rose is dead and will be having a funeral soon on Shanghalla. What isn't publicly known: that the Joker said Brainic 5 wasn't guilty of the original Legion disappearing and that Chronoblivion's forces were, and that the Spectre appeared as Blue Rose died and gruesomely killed her murderer, Firefly (though the Carggites that saw him may reveal this anon). As for Silent Horizon, it's publicly known: that the star drive test was a dismal failure and that much of the Silent Horizon crew died, and that the Legion saved the Robotican crew members. However, the full extent of what happened is not publicly known. (That said, people may post as anon Legion World staff spilling the beans on what happened during the mission.)

Well the haters and the media have been beating the shit out of him so long, why are you surprised he's used to it by now?

Okay, I'm a big enough sentient to admit when I'm wrong. If he really was some heartless monster, he wouldn't have cried like that and would've just done or said what he had to to save his own skin.

Nobody who's evil and selfish would take a beating over ideals and refuse to sell out on the people they're supposed to be protecting. And now both the newer Legionnaires and older Legionnaires keep saying they found out the missing Legionnaires are still alive. The Flash, Freelancer, and Justine Time said that the Joker bragged and that it wasn't Brainiac's fault they disappeared and Kid Q said that in a PR release they put out.

I'm the one that was running the beatonbrainiac site. You know, the one that had a graphic that caused him to get punched in the face when you click? I'm taking it offline for good.

I'm such a horrible sentient. Gods, I hope he survives so I can send a letter to the Legion fan message site to apologize. I feel sick.

Honestly, he acted in the way I would've expected Cosmic Boy to, or one of the Founders. I mean, that's not to say that all the Legionnaires aren't admirable, but there are a few that I'd expect to always be willing to lay down in hover-traffic for the Legion and its principles. I used to think Brainiac 5 was one of them before the rest of the Legion went missing, and then I stopped believing it.

I can't believe I was stupid enough to ever stop thinking that. I used to have posters of him on my walls, for Valor's sake. I'm an idiot. They're going back up, if only for a reminder to not be such a judgmental, mean-spirited nasshead in the future.

Is that another Freelancer? How many are we gonna get?

I'm seeing a ton of fights, but I'm lost as to which feeds to follow. Obviously the one with Crusader and the others rescuing the original team and Reaper Prime going against the fish girl, but I really don't need to see my childhood burn to the ground, Amp's not going to do anything important, Speedball's losing a fight to a rabbit, the Flash is moving too fast to see, and the Freelancers keep sneaking around.

Am I missing anything?
