THE IC ANON MEME RULES AND INFO ✦ Everything must be from an IC in-world perspective. The meme is specifically a Legion fandom meme. UP citizens, Legion World Staff, and Legionnaires all have access to the meme. While this meme is in the meme comm, it is real in the game universe and all the Legionnaires and the public can see it ICly. Rather than other ic anon memes where characters post starters to the meme, this meme operates like real world memes like rpanons. ✦ There are 3 ways to post. When posting as non-Legionnaires, do it anon. When posting as Legionnaires that unwisely comment unanon, just do it logged in. If posting as Legionnaires going anon, do it logged in, but mark "anon" in the subject, so we know it's anon, but can have a laugh over which Legionnaires are secretly stanning or shitposting. ✦ Not necessarily a rule, but keep in mind that attitudes in the UP are different than our world. Most people are referred to generally as "people" or "sentients" instead of species-specific terms like "humans." Most racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, and other "ist" attitudes are now uncommon among most species in the UP. Many sexual orientations exist, polyamory and polygamy are considered acceptable, and gender identity is very flexible. Species-based xenophobia tends to be the bigger social ill and even with that, many are against it. The species that are most disliked and distrusted are Durlans, Daxamites, and Roboticans. If you want to use them for fun, common UP cursewords are on the Legion Basics page. ✦ Beyond sticking to those basics, don't worry about getting anything "wrong." It's a meme and people tend to say stupid things on memes. You can even make up fake species and planets and details about them. The UP is huge and has lots of planets and species not mentioned in the game info. ✦ You can pretend to write things from the POV of Legion staff sharing the deets on the Legionnaires. However, they wouldn't share tactical info on the Legionnaires that could get them hurt in battle, only juicy gossip. Also, if someone is writing from the POV of Legion staff and writes something about your character that your character doesn't actually do, keep in mind that half the time people make shit up. It'll just be false gossip. ✦ Try to keep anything that can't be put behind a link sfw. While you can write someone sharing the start of their steamy slash fanfic, try to keep it limited to just part of it. Linking to fanart as if it was made in universe is a-okay, but just make sure to put it under a link and warn if it it's nsfw. Please check character ages before posting any nsfw stuff to make sure they're over 18. ✦ Feel free to get really crazy. Fandom gets crazy and fandom is no different in the glorious robot future. There are normal posters, shitposters, trolls, rpf ficcers, stans, slashers, all the same things our time has. There are macros and gifs and ongoing fake memes you can make up. There will be a few preposted topics but you can make up new ones or just have anons create new topics or troll. ✦ The meme is generally modless and has no thread-freezing. Fandom plays it dangerous in the future and the ic mod rarely intervenes, though anons sometimes try to get them to. Anon comments can be deleted by the real mods at the request of players (like say if they made a formatting mistake and want to repost) but there should be no need to delete anything beyond that since it's all IC.

Yes, it was absolutely necessary, no I don't regret it, and the fact some of you can't seem to understand how sometimes people have to make those kinds of choices means you don't know squat.

You know, I read a case file about that military clash between the UP and AP. About how the military higher ups got duped into throwing away the lives of thousands of soldiers by the Dark Circle. Something that gt fed into by the public's xenophobia towards Durlans.

Back home, when I led the United Front, that was a fight for the survival of all sentient life in our universe, not some petty clash over territory, or something fueled by blind prejudice.

So maybe before you criticize war veterans in other worlds, you citizens of the UP might want to get your own affairs in order.

Yes and no. There was a part of me that did it purely because him living would've led to billions more sentients dying. There was also a part of me that did it because he made it so I watched people -- [He stops short of the words 'burn alive'] -- so I watched a whole lot of innocent people die.

There was no way to go into that situation with 100% pure intentions, completely emotionally removed. Anyone that thinks that's possible doesn't know what they're talking about or is completely heartless. When you're dealing with someone that causes that much harm, you can't turn off the anger over what they've done to hurt people.

You can just choose which part of yourself you listen to. The tactical assessment -- the logic -- or the rage.

In other situations, where war criminals like that could be safely taken in for trial, I've arrested them. Including one that killed a group of my new Novas and nearly killed my brother. The hate was there then, too, but the situation was different, so I put it aside.

So yeah, I enjoyed it. It was impossible not to. But that wasn't what fueled my final decision. Killing him was the only way to stop a war -- that the resistance had just lost -- that would've killed billions more. Including my home planet.

The guy that became our team leader, Night Thrasher, he recruited me and Justice and our friend Firestar to the team. Then one of the former heralds of Galactus got loose from where he was being held, and Nita was already on the scene, so naturally she was already fighting the guy when we jumped in.

I may have called her babe. [A pause.] There was probably an eyebrow waggle in there somewhere, too, not that she could see it through the helmet.

So, after she didn't murder me for hitting on her in really stupid ways, we formed the team, drove each other absolutely crazy for ages, and then finally realized you don't drive each other that crazy unless you care.
