Jason looks up from checking on the engineer -- he appears to only be knocked out and not dead. It's certainly a relief to the former Praetor, although if they can't figure out how to stop the train it might not be for long. He steps forward, peering over the larger teen's shoulder, to see if he can help. The answer is probably no -- Leo was the mechanic and machine expert of his group of friends -- but it doesn't hurt to try. Maybe something rubbed off.
But, no, it hadn't. That or the book is really that confusing. Jason shakes his head, "Maybe the person who wrote the manual is actually one of those people who hate reading them." He's pretty sure that counts as irony. Jason doesn't bat an eye when Hunk chunks the manual and, instead, peers out the window to gauge how much time they have until it will likely be too late.
"Well, we could start pulling at random...but we might not have the time," he says in a voice that is surprisingly calm. He adjusts the thin, golden framed glasses on his face, "I could try my luck flipping to random pages while you're looking over the levers. Not really sure what other options we may have...unless you know someone more powerful than a locomotive." Jason was pretty sure now wasn't the time to be making jokes, but when you faced life or death situations on a regular basis you started to become immune to it. Maybe Leo had rubbed off on him after all.
