Being instantly transported to a different location was not a new experience for Hiryu. What was a new experience, however, was the sensation of multiple mental screams hitting him all at once, causing him to lower to one knee as he gathered his bearings. He needed a moment to realize what was happening, to understand that the screams weren't a fabrication, but something real. And when he finally raised his head, and beheld the sight before him...
That was when he saw the world lit on fire. Buildings being destroyed, explosions going off every second... and what looked like armed soldiers gunning down fleeing civilians.
Hiryu narrowed his eyes. One hand moving behind him, and gripping the side-handle of his cypher. Immediately, he could feel the familiar hum of his cypher's generator coming online, coating the blade with plasma. Although for a moment, he hesitated. The appearance of the soldiers and civilians shifting, morphing...
And for a moment, in the place of the soldiers, were children. Young brainwashed children, mowing people down without hesitation.
Hiryu shook his head, trying to will the images away. He didn't know where they came from, but he would not let it distract him. Every second he wasted was a second people died. So, using every ounce of his willpower, he pushed all the mental screaming aside, ignoring the distraction. Shooting forward, as fast as his feet could carry him...
... And slicing one of the soldiers in two.
The two halves disintegrated, the excess plasma taking care of the body. The rest of the soldiers momentarily frozen by the sight, and giving Hiryu the chance to shoot forward, and slice another one in half. By then, the soldiers finally shook themselves out of their stupor, and began to open fire on the new threat. But it didn't matter anymore.
He was already on the move. They were all as good as dead.
