Both Captain Mystery and Lady Mabelton dealt with demons and other magical forces back home. I can't get into more details without releasing some seriously classified private health info, but it was apparently pretty bad.
They also only just came of age right before they got here, which meant he was dealing with monsters and the end of the world before he was even an adult. He and his sister had to do it without any superpowers.
