Dipper tries to think of a way to explain it that makes sense.
There really isn't one.
For a second he focuses on finishing the job. They've either freed all the victims that can walk or gathered all the ones that can't. Blue tendrils of teke curl around the metal panel like living things, shearing metal and lifting the entire plate off the floor, with everyone on it.
It takes a fair bit of effort and concentration, but again, by now, he's used to this. Keeping up conversations (and even quipping) mid-rescue is by now a beloved team past-time.
Sweat beads on his face as he also breaks open the door they'd come in through -- and the walls around it -- to widen it enough for his little floating tray of injured people. He starts floating the giant multi-person metal...stretcher-boat(?) through.
"She's part the of the team," he parrots back, with a little grin and the same familiarity. "A cosmic entity kidnapped us from our universe and threw us into a superhero universe in the far future, to try to force us to become superheroes and prevent an omnicidal apocalypse."
That's probably the most succinct way anyone could explain it.
They reach the other side of the door, where ship medics run up because they can now reach the injured and unconscious people.
"Incidentally."

"There's a reason you're here. And that cosmic-ey voice we heard? He does this a lot. We think it's some kind of test."
