Azula glared at the boy as he flew off, like he was the one in charge here. But fine, she could be a team player, at least temporarily. But she certainly wasn't going to repeat past mistakes and trust him. Mai and Ty Lee had taught her that lesson.
The creatures were headed for some more bystanders, who hadn't run off fast enough. Azula used her flames to swiftly travel towards them. "Get moving!" she yelled at them, before sending another lightning bolt flying into the sky.
Between her firebending and the boy's abilities, they were able to keep the creatures back for a time. Then, to her left, Azula noticed one of the beasts diving towards a man and picking him up.
"Oh no, you don't," she said, rushing in that direct, once more using her fire to gain momentum. As she got near she leapt into the air, managing to land on the creature's back. "Let him go," she shouted, before engulfing its head in flames.
The creature writhed, letting the man go - lucky for him, the drop wasn't far enough to do more than bruise him. Azula jumped off of him, landing softly on the ground amid more blue flame.
