When he finally pulls away, his eyes are still glassy, but he's still mostly keeping it together. He wipes at his eyes with his hand.

"Fine. I'm fine," he lies. (Badly).

He's not, but he will be? It's one of those kinds of things. He will be. He's getting there.

"Superheroing is hard. It's like -- it's the most amazing thing in the world, being able to help people, and having superpowers, but bad stuff happens. You wind up facing enemies like--"

His jaw clenches and he can't say the name. Everything with the yellow Lanterns only added onto Weirdmageddon. When he'd faced his fears in his fear lodge, it'd been Bill that he'd been fighting. When he went totally bugnuts crazy after they messed with his head, he'd been willing to call Bill up as a ring construct, something he never would've done otherwise.

They made that whole thing worse when it should've been getting better.

"You know..."

Him.

He drew in a deep breath and tried to calm down.

"So I'll get to that. Eventually. There was this thing, and it was bad, but it's over. And it's just--it's really good to see you." The tears are more relief than sadness or anything like that, and relief isn't necessarily a bad emotion. "Right now you need to know what's going on. Because that's bad, too. Like...really bad. Really, really bad. It's big, bigger than the random dinosaurs, bigger than anything we faced in Gravity Falls, bigger than even Weirdmageddon."
