He would have landed on his feet, if by for the handcuffs. Instead, he was yanked down suddenly with Marinette and dragged along without a chance to get his paws -- feet -- underneath him properly. If Marinette hadn't pulled him close to roll them safely through it, he'd probably have broken his neck. The thought was enough to ward off surprise at her quick thinking and very Ladybug-esque response.
It wasn't, however, enough to just him up entirely, as he laid on his back for a moment and stared up at Marinette.
"...It appears you've fallen for me."
He couldn't help it. Maybe the jokes were intrinsically tied to the cat and he just couldn't turn them off anymore.
